AfriPearl — Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy describes the rules that apply when using Afripearl. It forms part of our Terms of Service. By using Afripearl, you agree to follow these rules.

AfriPearl is an online dating platform where members create profiles, browse other members, and exchange private messages. Users independently decide which profiles to view and contact. AfriPearl does not act as a matchmaking agency, does not select or introduce members to one another, and does not arrange or organize in-person meetings.

1. Genuine relationship use

AfriPearl is intended solely for people seeking genuine dating and relationship connections.

You must not use the Service for:

  • Commercial solicitation of any kind
  • Prostitution or escort services
  • Compensated dating or paid sexual arrangements
  • Sugar dating or requests for financial arrangements in exchange for company, attention, or a relationship
  • Selling goods or services
  • Recruitment, advertising, or spam unrelated to genuine dating

AfriPearl is not, and will never be, a platform for prostitution, escorting, paid sexual services, or any other financial arrangement in exchange for company, attention, or intimacy.

2. Fraud and financial solicitation

You must not use AfriPearl to:

  • Ask another user for money, gift cards, loans, cryptocurrency, or bank transfers
  • Solicit investments or "financial assistance"
  • Run fundraising appeals or charity requests
  • Attempt scams, confidence tricks, or fabricated emergencies
  • Send phishing links or attempt to obtain another user's financial or account credentials
  • Impersonate a real or fictitious person to obtain money or benefits from another user

If a conversation moves toward requests for money or financial details, stop responding and report it using the Report function or by emailing contact@afripearl.com.

3. Authentic identities

You must not:

  • Create a fake or duplicate profile
  • Impersonate another person, whether real or fictitious
  • Misrepresent your identity, age, marital status, or other material facts about yourself
  • Use photos or videos that are not genuinely your own without authorization
  • Create or operate an account on behalf of another person without their authorization

4. Sexual and prohibited content

You must not post, send, or request:

  • Pornography or sexually explicit images or videos
  • Explicit sexual solicitation
  • Advertising of prostitution or escort services
  • Offers of sexual services in exchange for money or any other benefit
  • Content that sexually exploits any person
  • Child sexual exploitation or abuse in any form, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Grooming, or any other attempt to sexually exploit, a minor
  • Sexual violence, or any threat or facilitation of sexual violence
  • Non-consensual intimate or sexual content involving another person
  • Sexually explicit profile photos, profile text, or other pornographic content displayed publicly on your profile
  • Any content involving, or that sexualizes, minors

This does not prohibit ordinary, respectful romantic or flirtatious conversation between consenting adults, which is a normal part of using a dating platform.

5. Harassment and abuse

You must not engage in:

  • Harassment, threats, or intimidation
  • Stalking or repeated unwanted contact after a person has asked you to stop
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Coercion or blackmail
  • Non-consensual sharing of another person's intimate images or private information

6. Minors

AfriPearl is strictly reserved for adults aged 18 and over.

Users must provide their age during registration. Accounts with an age below 18 are not permitted, and this is enforced at the time of account creation, not merely requested. Separately, certain users may complete identity verification using a government-issued identity document (see the Terms of Service); that identity verification process is distinct from, and not a substitute for, the age control applied at registration.

You must not:

  • Create or operate an account if you are under 18
  • Post, share, or request sexual content involving minors
  • Use the Service to contact or attempt to contact a minor

Accounts suspected of belonging to a minor, or of targeting minors, may be immediately suspended or removed, and may be reported to competent authorities where required by law.

7. Platform integrity

You must not:

  • Use bots, scripts, or other automated tools to access, scrape, or extract data from the Service
  • Create accounts through automated or bulk registration
  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages
  • Distribute malware or malicious code
  • Attempt to bypass content moderation, identity verification, or access and payment controls
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or to AfriPearl's infrastructure
  • Probe, scan, or exploit vulnerabilities in the Service

8. Offline safety and conduct

AfriPearl does not organize, arrange, or take part in offline meetings between users. Whether and how to meet another user in person is a decision made independently by the users involved, and each user is solely responsible for their own safety and conduct in doing so. See our Safety Centre for practical guidance.

You must not use AfriPearl to facilitate illegal activity, violence, human trafficking, sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, coercion, or any other unlawful conduct.

9. Reporting and enforcement

If you encounter behavior that violates this Policy, please report the profile or conversation using the in-app Report function, or contact us via the Contact page or contact@afripearl.com.

Where appropriate, AfriPearl may:

  • Investigate reports
  • Remove or restrict content
  • Restrict features on an account
  • Suspend an account
  • Permanently terminate an account, without refund, in case of a serious or repeated breach
  • Preserve relevant records where legally required
  • Cooperate with competent authorities where legally required
