Afripearl responds to valid legal requests from competent law-enforcement and judicial authorities in accordance with applicable law. These guidelines explain how authorities may submit requests concerning Afripearl users or accounts.
These guidelines are informational and do not create any additional legal right or obligation beyond what applicable law already requires. Afripearl does not automatically comply with every request received; each request is assessed on its own merits, as described below.

Before responding to a request, Afripearl may seek to verify:
Requests that are incomplete, overly broad, or that cannot be verified may require clarification or additional documentation before they can be processed.
Afripearl does not maintain every category of data for every account, and the availability of any particular item depends on the account, the functionality used, applicable retention periods, and the nature of the request. Depending on these factors, Afripearl may hold information such as:
Afripearl does not store full payment card details. Payment card processing and full card data are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor.
Afripearl cannot provide information that has already been deleted or that was never retained. Retention periods for different data categories are described in our Privacy Policy.
Where permitted by applicable law, authorities may request preservation of existing account information while the appropriate legal process is obtained to compel disclosure.
Afripearl will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with applicable law. Afripearl cannot preserve information that has already been deleted or that is no longer retained at the time the request is received, and does not commit in advance to any specific preservation period.
For genuine emergencies involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, authorities should:
Afripearl will assess emergency requests in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances presented. Marking a request as an emergency does not by itself guarantee disclosure, a particular response time, or that any specific information will be available.
Where legally permitted and appropriate, Afripearl may notify an affected user of a request concerning their account. Afripearl may withhold notice where prohibited by law, by court order, or where notice could create a risk of harm or compromise a lawful investigation.
Afripearl is operated by a French entrepreneur individuel and the Service is provided from France. Requests from authorities outside France may require additional legal process depending on the requesting jurisdiction and applicable French and European law. This page does not provide legal advice on mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) procedures or other cross-border mechanisms; requesting authorities should consult their own legal counsel as needed.
Afripearl seeks to disclose only the information it is legally required or permitted to disclose, and only to the extent responsive to the valid scope of a request. Requests are considered in light of applicable data protection principles, including those of the GDPR, which does not prevent lawful disclosure to competent law-enforcement or judicial authorities where a valid legal basis exists.
This process is intended solely for legitimate law-enforcement and judicial authorities acting in their official capacity. Private individuals — including ordinary users, private investigators, employers, partners, relatives, or other private parties — should not use this process to try to obtain another user's information.
Afripearl does not disclose user data merely because someone claims to be investigating another user. Private parties seeking information about their own account, or raising a privacy concern, should instead contact contact@afripearl.com through our ordinary support and privacy channels.
